Soto 40 recognised as international class

At the ISAF Annual Conference which has just finished in Puerto Rico, the Soto 40 Class was granted official recognition as an International Class only two years after the first boats were built in Argentina.


Adopted successfully for the 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit, the Soto 40 class was introduced to Europe for this season and is promised a strong future on the 2012 Audi MedCup Circuit considering the number of new boat sales which have been confirmed for the coming season. Hull number 33 is presently being completed with boats now racing country’s such as Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Japan, the USA, Spain and England among the complement of 11 different nations.

This significant recognition by ISAF is a considerable endorsement of the rapid growth and internationality of the Soto 40. It underlines that our decision taken by the Audi MedCup Circuit that the class is the right one. For a class which had its roots as a local one design in South America we see a very bright future for the class in Europe and worldwide.” Said Nacho Postigo (ESP) technical director of the Audi MedCup Circuit.
