The 2008 AUDI MedCup Circuit continues to attract sailors from the very top of their disciplines from within the sport. Everyone wants to take part - Olympic medallists like Ross Macdonald, Luis Doreste, Jordi Calafat, Natalia via Dufresne, Sofia Bekatorou, Jochen Schuemann and Mark Reynolds have all competed on the MedCup Circuit. Round the world sailors, Neal and Lisa MacDonald, Ray Davies, Terry Hutchinson, John Kostecki, Andrew Cape and Roberto Bermudez sail on, or have competed on the Circuit as have America’s Cup sailors like Terry Hutchison, Dean Barker, Russell Coutts, Paul Cayard, and Tomasso Chieffi. The list is endless but the common factor is the desire to take part in a competitive, world-leading event.
In addition to this one cannot underestimate the support of HRH Juan Carlos of Spain, a regular sailor on the Circuit aboard Bribon or HRH King Harald of Norway who competed on his TP52 Fram. |
